Lignum Resilient is led by well-known UK security and resilience specialist Phil Wood.
Phil Wood MBE CSyP FSyI HonMBCI SIRM SFHEA is a specialist security and resilience consultant and training expert. Before founding Lignum Resilient Phil was the Academic Director for Frontier Risks Group, a leading security and risk management company in the United Kingdom. Formerly, he was Professor and Head of the School of Aviation and Security at Buckinghamshire New University, working not only as an academic leader but also as the University’s organisational resilience lead. This followed his 20-year career as a commissioned officer in the Royal Air Force Regiment, with various security and organisational roles, and 3 years as deputy director of training for an internationally recognised corporate security training company, Arc Training International.
Phil operates globally; and he has worked in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and across Europe in the delivery of security, resilience and business continuity consultancy, training and higher education. He speaks Arabic, French, and Spanish. He is a member of the Register of Chartered Security Professionals, a Fellow of the Security Institute and an Honorary Member of the Business Continuity Institute, and a Technical Specialist Member of the Institute of Risk Management, all of which are benchmarks for knowledge and credibility in security, risk and resilience.
He has a proven track record of delivering security strategy, management and learning in corporate, higher education and military sectors, focusing on personnel-driven excellence, knowledge and capability development leading to increased organisational performance.
